FAO: Reception Parents - Supporting Your Child's Learning at Home12 June 2026 (by Holly Evans (admin)) |
I hope you are well.
As we continue through the summer term, I would like to thank you for your ongoing support with your child's learning. Working together between home and school makes a significant difference to children's progress and confidence.
Reading at Home
Reading regularly at home is one of the most important ways you can support your child's learning. Even just 10–15 minutes of reading each day helps to develop their phonics knowledge, vocabulary, comprehension skills and love of books.
Please remember to record any reading completed at home in your child's reading record. This allows us to monitor their reading progress, celebrate their achievements and ensure that they are reading regularly. A brief comment is all that is needed.
Weekly Homework
We would also like to remind parents of the importance of completing the weekly homework that is set. Homework provides valuable opportunities for children to practise and consolidate the skills they have been learning in class, helping to build confidence and independence.
Please encourage your child to complete their homework each week and return it by Wednesday. If you have any difficulties accessing or completing the homework, please speak to a member of the Reception team and we will be happy to help.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's education. Together, we can help them achieve their very best.
Kind regards,
Miss Campbell
