Friendship Lunch on Census Day - Thursday 19th January 2023

    Dear Parents/Carers
Friendship Lunch on Census Day - Thursday 19th January 2023
Once again we are approaching National Census Day - a very important day in the school year! As you may be aware, all schools are at a risk of reduced funding from the Government, one of the ways in which funding is allocated to schools is by the number of children eating school lunch (this also includes children entitled to Free School Meals) on three predetermined dates in the academic year, the next one being Thursday 19th January 2023. We had such an amazing day last term with everyone joining in for a fun lunch with their teachers with an exciting special menu.
In order to maximise the amount of funding we receive, we would like to encourage ALL children to enjoy a Friendship Lunch together again on Thursday. On this occasion, the school will order a lunch for all children in receipt of universal free school meals (Reception to year 2) and would encourage other years groups to access school lunches on this day also.We have an exciting menu planned for Thursday (see attached) consisting of:
    • Crispy Chicken Burger
    • Quorn Burger (V)
    • Cheese Baguette

all served with Chips, Pasta, Peas and Sweetcorn
    For dessert:

    • Fruits
    • Jelly
    • Shortbread Biscuits
PLEASE NOTE, IF YOUR CHILD HAS AN ALLERGY MENU WE WILL ENSURE THAT YOUR CHILD RECEIVES THE APPROPRIATE MEAL
As we focus on our three school rules, we will be celebrating friendship during the school week. On Thursday staff will eat their lunch with the children and use this time to talk about respect and kindness. In addition, we are excited to welcome our new cook Laura to the school, this will be a great opportunity for the children to meet her and make her feel welcome!

Your support for the school on this important day is very much appreciated.
