Saffron Green’s Sports Premium Expenditure:

Report to parents 2016/17

 

Amount of sport premium funding received for financial year 2016/17: 

£8,955

 

Nature of Support Provided Using the Sports Premium

· Equipment

New equipment has been bought to support and enhance sports provision at Saffron Green for use in lessons and for clubs.

· Daily Mile

The Daily Mile is used throughout the school and the sports premium is supporting the implementation of a more clearly marked track on the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds and personal best record cards for the children to track their own progress.

· Sports Teaching Assistant

A teaching assistant with a sports background is employed to run after school to sports clubs. They also provide mini sports lunchtime clubs for the children.

· After school club inclusion

Some sports premium money is be used to subsidise after school clubs to ensure access for all.

· Lunchtime Sports Clubs and activities

We run a number of mini lunchtime sports clubs KS1 and KS2 children. Some clubs are designed to work on developing basic skills, some to allow children to focus on a particular sport and some to teach children about healthy living and keeping ourselves fit.

 

Measuring the impact of the sports premium for 2016/17

The sports premium has allowed and continues to allow the children to experience quality sports provision both within and outside of the curriculum

· Saffron Green has been awarded the Silver School Games Award for out sports provision.

· The vast majority of children have participated in extra-curricular sports activities including

   after school clubs, partnership and consortium competitions and Saffron Green sports

   week.
